NEW YORK PROTOTYPE FESTIVAL
JANUARY 14-18, 2020
The PROTOTYPE festival is New York’s premiere contemporary, multi-disciplinary operatheatre and music-theatre festival. The Boston Globe raves that “opera has everything to lose if it ossifies, and much to gain if it programs a little bit more like Prototype.”
Now in its eighth season, PROTOTYPE has become a boundary pushing taste-maker in the new opera landscape and has an established “track record of introducing New York audiences to some of the most daring new operas of the day” (The New York Times). The upcoming 2020 season features artists such as James Darrah, Frank Bidart, and 2019 Pulitzer Prize winner Ellen Reid.
The Roxy Hotel features a mid-century modern aesthetic with hints of Art Deco & Regency that meets with Tribeca’s industrial heritage. The accommodations exude maximum comfort along with a beautiful ambience.
